At the Planning Commission last week, February 19th, the Commission received an update from the local Steering Committee regarding the Minnesota Design Team, who are scheduled to to visit Rushford April 24 through 26, 2008. The local Steering Committee will be holding a meeting on February 26th at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Theatre. The Minnesota Design Teamis a highly skilled group of professionals that work with communities to help create a vision and plan for the community. This process fits well with the on-going comprehensive planning work that Yaggy Colby Associates has undertaken at the direction of the City Council and Planning Commission. The goal is to bring people together from Rushford, Rushford Village and Peterson to forge a common vision in response to the devastating floods last year. We are very excited to have the Minnesota Design Team visit our communities. This is a great opportunity for everyone in the Rushford, Rushford Village, Peterson areas to be an active part in shaping the future of the whole community. We invite anyone interested in learning more about the Design Team visit and/or interested in participating in the preparation to attend our next meeting on Thursday, March 6 beginning at 6:30 pm at the High School Theater.
